Bringing the Art of the Saxophone to Long Island

Founded in 1987, the Transitions Saxophone Quartet is dedicated to bringing the unique, versatile sound of music written for the saxophone to the general public.

For over three decades, the ensemble has performed for a wide range of audiences throughout Long Island. Transitions frequently provides the musical backdrop for local wineries, art galleries, and libraries, while also bringing a touch of elegance to weddings and private parties.

The quartet’s extensive repertoire bridges multiple genres, eras, and styles. Performances span the timeless classical works of Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, and Debussy, as well as the renowned jazz artistry of foundational figures like Duke Ellington, Charlie Parker, Scott Joplin, Phil Woods, and Dizzy Gillespie.
