Overview

Join us for a captivating and diverse evening of string music as the Smithtown Strings, under the baton of Conductor Kathy Giuliano, take you on a journey through sweeping cinematic landscapes, timeless folk traditions, and high-energy fiddle favorites. This delightful program showcases the incredible versatility of our string musicians, bridging the gap between orchestral mastery, silver-screen magic, and beloved American roots music.

Movie lovers will be thrilled by the ensemble's performance of John Williams’ soaring Flying Theme from "E.T." and the majestic Theme from Jurassic Park, alongside the playful, jazzy rhythms of Henry Mancini's The Pink Panther and Baby Elephant Walk. The program also digs deep into the heart of American music, featuring the rustic charm of traditional folk tunes, Scott Joplin's syncopated ragtime classic The Easy Winner, and the fiery, high-octane energy of Blue-Fire Fiddler. From the atmospheric beauty of Prairie Sky to a rousing, patriotic finale of George M. Cohan favorites, this performance promises to be an uplifting and memorable experience for the whole family!
