Overview
Join us for an extraordinary evening of music that stretches from the roots of American melody to the vibrant sounds of today. To start the night, the Transitions Saxophone Quartet will present a dynamic pre-concert showcase. Their performance bridges generations of American songwriting, moving effortlessly from the early choral traditions of William Billings and the romanticism of Amy Beach to the high-energy, feel-good hits of Neil Diamond and Stevie Wonder.
The main program features the Smithtown Community Band, led by Conductor William T. Link and Associate Conductor Bradley S. Hartman, in a sweeping musical journey through the American experience. This performance offers a profound look at our history through dramatic works like The Battle of Trenton and the American Civil War Fantasy, alongside the timeless, swinging jazz of George Gershwin and Leonard Bernstein’s iconic West Side Story. We are also thrilled to feature spectacular guest vocalist Georgeanna Piazza on beloved favorites like Over the Rainbow, as well as a historic moment you won't want to miss: the World Premiere of Bradley S. Hartman’s original work, Radiant Jubilee. It promises to be an uplifting, soul-stirring night for our entire community!
